It has been a long time since our last update and I really did not expect to send another. Everything is going good as far as Brent's leg is concerned; it healed perfectly, he rides his bike 10-20 miles two or three times a week, he has actually played basketball a few times, and his leg is continually shrinking and should get the final prothesis in the next several weeks. Mentally this has been a hugh adjustment which is perfectly normal.
I am writing this update because we need more prayer concerning our insurance in this situation. They have finally approved the payment of the hospital bills, etc after a long appeals process and have actually paid the small ones. They are waiting to pay the two very large ones upon reviewing the itemized bills. This is a blessing and a great relief for us even though the process has been long and a little scarey at times realizing that they almost did not approve any of it. Pray that they pay soon!
We learned today that they did not approve the prothestic because it was not Pre-Approved. The prosthetic company is in the insurance approved list and we filled out many forms before surgery and do not understand why this is not being approved. This is suppose to go before another appeals process the first of next week-hence, we need your prayers! This is a hugh bill and the prosthetic company has been absolutely wonderful to work with (not only with the fact that they have not been paid but also because they have done such a great job and are so good to work with us). We highly recommend them to anyone-Anderson Brace and Limb in Dyersburg.
Please pray that they will approve and pay these bills and that God get the Glory (and we not dishonor God by worrying). Thanks :)
How is Brent?

Brent rode his bicycle about 3-4 miles this morning!!! Everything is going great and we appreciate again all your prayers, love and encouragement.
Continue to pray for Brent's brother, Tony, as he slowly recovers from throat cancer treatments-he is very weak. He is finished with treatments.

Brent is still progressing very well. He feels great and is very excited about getting his prothesis this Friday. He is ready to get around and get busy again. Breanne is feeling almost 100%. Beth needs mail - she is missing home (friends and family) but at peace being away right now. BETH LAMBERT C/O THE MISSION P.O. BOX 460 TECATE, CA 91980 Brent's brother, Tony, just finished his chemo and radiation treatments for throat cancer and is waiting for a report from the doctor. Pray for him as he tries to recover from the treatments.
Thanks again for your continued prayers and help to our family!

Well Brent now has the 'sock' that is suppose to shape the leg and get it ready for the prothesis. He is very excited and a little impatient as he is very tired of sitting. The sock also helps a little with the phantom pain. He has actually slept 5 hours straight one night. Pray that he does not fall on his compromised leg as rehab told him it could set him back three weeks. Otherwise, he should be walking in about 3 weeks. :) Brent said to tell everyone hello and thank you!
Breanne continues to improve daily.
Yesterday, as I was running an errand in Jackson, someone hit my car and probably totaled it since it is an older car. Thankfully, the man who hit me was very very honest and nice. Thankful also for the fact that no one was hurt at all and it really could have been worse.
I tell you all of this to let you know how appreciative we are of your prayers because we could not deal with all of this otherwise. God IS good ALL the time.

Brent had his staples removed today and Dr. Currie says everything is looking good. Brent should be able to start getting ready for his prothesis in one more week-which means they will start wrapping and shaping his leg to fit into the prothesis. Then rehab will train him to use it properly. Someone loaned us a recliner and that is helping very much. He continues to improve and adjust daily but is still having a hard time getting a good deep sleep for more than a couple to three hours in a row. We are so very much thankful for all the fire wood that has been cut, split and stacked for us to use this winter.
Brooke does NOT have mono but just had a short lived virus of some kind. Breanne continues to improve daily from her mono. Beth is doing great, just missing her dad.
Thank you again for your love, concern, encouragement and prayers.

Brent is doing very well. The phantom pain is still there but we are told that will diminish with time. It changes which is weird. Breanne is improving gradually every day but is still dealing with the mono. Pray for my youngest daughter, Brooke, who may be showing signs of mono also. Hopefully, she just has another type of virus or something other than mono.
Dr. Currie suggested that Brent prop his leg using a recliner chair. We do not have a recliner and he has been using a pillow, but if there is someone out there who has a recliner that we could "borrow" we would appreciate it very much. :)
