10-5-10

Brent is going for his second trip to rehab this morning and for his first doctor visit tomorrow since surgery.  He continues to heal physically but is having his ups and downs emotionally.  We realize this is all very normal but he covets your prayers now more than ever.  He is getting around very well on crutches, a small in house scooter than was loaned to him, and a four wheeler that someone loaned him to get around outside.  He plans on driving himself to rehab this morning.  Also, the phantom pain is very real and very hard.  Pray that this becomes less and less each day.  He will not get his prothesis for another 4 weeks at least.  Pray that the leg will heal properly so that this will not be delayed.
We are still having trouble with our insurance (Christian MediShare).  They are claiming that there is no way Brent could not have had treatment or symptoms in the past 3 years when in fact he has had no treatment or symptoms in the past 9 years.  They are 'assuming' (according to their letters).  Letters are being written, calls are being made and emails sent.  Please pray that this will be settled soon so that this will be one less thing to have to deal with.
Breanne (Brent's middle daughter) continues to get better but very slowly (she has mono).  The mono is causing her tonsils to swell and be infected.  She did not work all last week but slept day and night.  She worked yesterday but it was very hard.  Her employers suggested she work from 10 to 2 the rest of this week so she can get much needed rest and still be able to work.  This is a new job for her and she loves it.  They have been so good to her.
Also, pray for Beth (Brent's oldest daughter) who is in Mexico working at a Mission for handicapped children.  She loves working at the Mission but is having a hard time being away from home during Brent's ordeal.  Like all of our children, She loves her Dad dearly.  :)
